The guides on this site are written and reviewed by the Best Loans Jersey Editorial Team. This page explains how we put them together, so you can judge how much weight to give them.

Who writes the guides

Every guide is credited to the Best Loans Jersey Editorial Team rather than to an individual. The team is part of Best Loans Jersey, a Jersey business that introduces borrowers to lenders and brokers. We are an introducer, not a lender or a financial adviser, and Best Loans Jersey is not regulated by the Jersey Financial Services Commission.

How we source facts

• Figures, thresholds and legal rules are taken from primary sources wherever possible: gov.je, jerseylaw.je, Statistics Jersey, gov.gg, the Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman and lenders' own published terms.
• Each fact links to the page it came from, so you can check it yourself.
• If we cannot verify a figure, we leave it out rather than estimate it.
• Worked examples are labelled as illustrations. They are not quotes or offers.

Review dates

Each guide shows the date it was first published and, where it has since been checked, the date its facts were last reviewed. Rules and rates change — Jersey's new consumer credit regime is one example — so treat an older review date as a reason to check the source links.

Independence

We do not charge borrowers for introductions. Guides do not rank or recommend individual lenders as the "best", and they explain what to check with any lender rather than steering you to one.
